In a bid to maintain peace and order in the forthcoming election into The Ondo State House of Assembly, slated to hold 9th March, 2019 by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, The Owo Local Government Area Students Union OLGASU urged the State governor, Security Agencies, Traditional Rulers and other concerned stakeholders to intervene in the situation of Owo Kingdom.
The National President of OLGASU, Comr. Chief Bamido Akogun made the admonition in a press release made available to Newsmen.
Akogun said peace should be an order of the day, during and after election.
He added that Politics is never a war advising all politicians to come together and work for the betterment of the nation “Politicians should allow peace to reign in Owo before, during and after forthcoming election, Killing ourselves in Owo will do us more harm than good, to all politicians who may embark doing contrary otherwise should have a rethink because everybody in Owo LG will heap curses on your father’s house even to the unborn generation. killing one another is uncalled for, intimidating one another is unacceptable in Owo LG, let’s come together as one rather than killing election no be war”.
Meanwhile the election into the state House of Assembly was earlier scheduled to hold 2nd March 2019 before it was postponed by the INEC.
